As the dialog indicates, patched files are not backed up. I suggest all users back up, by copying into a temporary folder somewhere, the following files:
  • \Windows\Explorer.exe
  • \Windows\System32\wisptis.exe
  • \Windows\System32\ieframe.dll
  • \Windows\System32\shell32.dll
  • \Windows\System32\stobject.dll
  • \Windows\System32\TabletPC.cpl
  • \Windows\System32\themecpl.dll
  • \Windows\System32\themeui.dll
  • \Windows\System32\powercfg.cpl
Understanding the risks involved in patching core system files, you may download a copy of the tool for x86 or x64 (delayed due to issues). Please keep in mind this tool is not affiliated, sponsored, supported by, written by, or endorsed by Microsoft Corporation.
Update: Blue Badge is compatible with previously patched (superbar) systems.



1.) Size: 19.83 KB
NOTE: This is x86 32bit build only.
2.) Run above file from the desktop.
3.) Click “Yes” on the UAC prompt.
4.) You will see a cmd window flash, that simply backups the files to your desktop under the “Blue Badge BackUp” folder which was just created. So keep this folder just in case.
5.) You should see the “Blue Badge” application now. So click on “I understand the risks, continue.”
6.) Click “ok” on the patching complete screen. Reboot! Your done! Simple um? he-he
NOTE: Feel free to now delete BlueBadgeBackUp.exe, BlueBadge.exe, and BlueBadgeBackUp.cmd from your desktop as they are no longer needed.

    Vistapack takes the file from the host, backs it up, modifies a sample and puts the modified file back in the system.

    This ensures that you are using the latest files so no need for alerts like "Now I am using an old file, what if it's updated by Microsoft? Then I will be open for attack...". Nope, no need to worry. You keep the updated file.

   The pack uses ResHacker to change icons, bitmaps and some dialogs, to make it look like the new Microsoft Windows Vista!

   It's rather safe in my opinion, but of course there are some risks when you modify system files. This is at your own risk!!!

   But no need to worry, there are few bugs that cause your pc not to boot or something. Personally i did not had that happening here. Of course, when you don't like it, you can uninstall the pack like any other software.

  • Go to Services->Software Licensing and choose "Disabled" as Startup method
  • Reboot your computer, when rebooted, go to : C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\ Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing and delete the tokens.dot file there, replacing it with the one from this package.
  • Yet again, go to Services->Software Licensing and choose "Automatic"
  • as Startup method.
  • Run the vistaactivation.exe file (as included), activate your computer as if it was running Vista Ultimate. (Should any errors occur, just neglect them.)
  • Restart your computer.
  • After reboot, it will now ask for a cd-key, use the following one: 6F2D7-2PCG6-YQQTB-FWK9V-932CC and wait a few minutes it for it to activate.
  • Now you've got a activated Windows 7 version.
